The Boomer File - Boomer Timeline

The Boomer File - Boomer Timeline
Video sent by boomerfile

I came across this video just today; a little into 2009; but I just had to share the Boomer Timeline. Great recap of what has influenced Boomers.

Happy 2009 Boomers! You know, the election of Barack Obama last year added a new milestone to the Baby Boomer Timeline. And that got me thinking of all the wonderful and terrifying things that have shaped the world in our lifetime. Here's a quick run down. And stay tuned to The Boomer File, because we've got a lot in store for 2009! And remember, you can watch all episodes of The Boomer File in HD at http://www.boomerfile.tv!

Very interesting blog, and we do need to be looking more at the changing nature of retirement.

But Obama, as many experts and Obama hinself have repeatedly said, is not a part of the Boomer Generation. It is important to distinguish between the demographic boom in births from 1946-1964 vs. the Baby Boom GENERATION, born approximately 1942-1953.

As many nationally influential voices have repeatedly noted, Obama is part of Generation Jones, born 1954-1965, between the Boomers and Generation X. Google Generation Jones, and you'll see it’s gotten a lot of media attention, and many top commentators from many top publications and networks (Washington Post, Time magazine, NBC, Newsweek, ABC, etc.) specifically use this term to describe Obama.

Excellent op-ed on Obama as the first Generation Jones President in USA TODAY a couple of weeks ago:
